George Noble to receive CA Council Medal

The following is written by Kitty Carruthers, Graham Brightwell and Mike Lambert:

It has recently been announced that our Chairman, George Noble, is to be presented with the Croquet Association's Council Medal at the CA's AGM in October. The medal is awarded for outstanding services to Croquet. It is no exaggeration to say that George has been fundamental to Surbiton's success. All our members and visitors to the club experience the fruits of George's ceaseless labour in his myriad roles as Head groundsman, cook, barman, (yes) bottle-washer etc. etc. He has been the driving force behind the club's growth over 25 years from very humble beginnings to its status today as one of the country's premier croquet clubs; one that regularly hosts national and international tournaments. All CA members are invited to attend the AGM at The Hurlingham Club on October 15th at 11am. Many SCC members, who are themselves members of the CA, plan to be at the AGM to show their appreciation for George's massive contribution to Croquet and, in particular, to their club.
