Accompanied by good weather, our first U League match was a social success, but Dulwich outplayed us on the lawns. Their middle order won it for them with Mark beating Mike H +15 and Mike L +9 while Pierre scored +9 against both Mike L and Chas. The doubles was closely contested with Graham and Chas enjoying a slender lead until the last turn when Farooq and Michael sneaked home by +2T. Our faces were saved by good wins by Graham +11 against Farooq and Mike H +13 against Michael. Final score: Surbiton 2 Dulwich 5.
