With Roger a (welcome!) last minute stand-in for David Ruscombe-King our team looked somewhat low calibre for a U League side. However, both Colin and Mike produced gutsy +3 wins against John H and Geoff respectively, while Chas & Roger achieved a comfortable +8 win in the doubles against John T and Ron to give us a 3-0 lunchtime lead. After the break, Chas secured the match beating Geoff +14 with 5 of his 7 bisques still standing, Mike won an exciting battle +2 against John H, while Roger, bisques exhausted and trailing for most of his game against Ron, pulled a great break out of the bag to win +5. In another close finish, Colin eventually succumbed by 2 to John T to give the visitors a consolation game.
Final score: Surbiton 6, Reigate Priory 1.
