Surbiton Handicap Golf Croquet Summer Ladder Rules 2016

  1. The ladder is open to all club members but please tell the organisers if you wish to be put on the system (see the final paragraph)

  2. Names will be initially allocated to the ladder at random and thereafter new entrants will start at the bottom.

  3. A ladder match will consist of one handicap 13 point game. All results to be recorded on handicap cards please.

  4. Matches can be instigated by any player challenging any one of the five players above them, either orally or by email or telephone. The challenger should offer his/her opponent three separate dates. If they are unable to agree, the challenger will be deemed to have won.

  5. Players should not play the same opponent consecutively.

  6. If the challenger wins, her/his name card should replace that of the loser and the cards between moved down one place.

  7. The definitive record of matches played will be the ladder on the club website. We should all ensure that the physical and web records remain harmonised.

  8. At the close of the 2016 summer season, and during the week before the autumn lawn maintenance programme, the top four names at that time will play off to determine the summer winner in a straight knock-out 1 v 3 and 2 v 4.

  9. There may be a winter ladder, depending on enthusiasm.

The ladder organisers are Sue Osborne and Bernard Pendry. Sue's email is sueosborne14@gmail.com.
